Ahmaya Knoelle
Ahmaya Knoelle a New York-born Harlem native and award-winning vocalist, dancer, teaching artist, global performer, recording artist, musical director and producer, she serves as Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the acclaimed music and arts institution, The Mama Foundation for The Arts.
Ada Dyer
A Chicago native, Ada started singing in high school. She first came to the attention of soul music fans through her note-worthy contributions to some of Norman Connor’s most popular work in the late Seventies. Ada, singing under her full name of Adaritha, sang the leads on several of Norman’s songs, including ‘Take It To The Limit’, ‘Handle Me Gently’, ‘You Been On My Mind’, ‘You Bring Me Joy’ and ‘Be There In The Morning’. As Ada Dyer she has cut two solo albums for Motown: Meant to Be (1988) and Ada Dyer (1990). She has toured with Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack, Lenny Kravitz, and Boz Skaggs, and her studio credits include U2, Sting, Cher, Ronnie Spector, Bruce Springsteen and Luther Vandross.

Backa Niang is a born African Musician and storyteller. He started his career with the African hip hop and was apart of a world music band named GOKH BI system in 1999.
Boncellia Lewis & Friends
The fun, engaging, and astute vocal stylist Boncellia Lewis has been a fixture in the NYC music scene for several decades. She has toured Europe, South America, and across the U.S. She has worked with notable artists like Donald Smith, Bill Saxton, and Harry Whitaker and mentored many younger musicians.
Barry Antoine
Barry Antoine is a dynamic singer, songwriter, and performer whose soulful sound blends classic R&B with a fresh, modern twist. Born with a passion for the arts, Barry’s journey began in Brooklyn and Harlem, evolving from school plays and glee clubs to award-winning performances with his group Deuce. As a solo artist, Barry’s music (featured on projects like The Art of the Heart Break and Eclipse) is heartfelt, honest, and undeniably engaging.
Circular Time
Circular Time is a tight, blues, cross-over band with a powerful horn sectionthat performs blues, jazz, funk, zydeco, afro-pop, reggae, soca, and classic rock. The core part of the group has been together since 1998. They can move from a hard edged blues, a beat, a transition, to a soca that might incorporate a dash of samba, or merengue, followed by a funk, or an original house/afro-pop, to a Coltrane, or a Albert King ballad or a Herbie Hancock.

Christian Vega
A Bronx local, Christian Vega has performed in jazz, blues, and rock acts with the flute in suburban neighborhoods within the Bronx to Bars and Restaurants all over Westchester County, as a trio and quartet. Latin Jazz, Smooth Jazz and Funk repertoire has always been his focus.
Danaya Band
Founded in New York City in 2017 by Aboubacar Dembele, bass player/ percussionist son of renowned Malian musician Bamba Dembele. This high energy band is comprised of seasoned, world traveled artists of West African backgrounds.
David Lee Jones’ Harlem Groove Band
The American Legion Post 398 is the only remaining organ house in the Harlem Community. Led by Saxophonist David Lee Jones, the Legacy Band hosts a legendary Sunday eveningJazz Jam, continuing a 25-year legacy in honor of the great organist Seleno Clark.
Deborah and the Sounds of Harlem
Vocalist, Deborah Newallo, has been performing professionally for over 15 years. Her vocal repertoire spans multiple genres: jazz, gospel, blues, rock, R&B and pop.
Greginald Spencer
A Pine Bolt, Miss native, turned International Entertainer is the 1st Ever Winner of BET’s Apollo Live since its return. An R&B/Soul Singer and songwriter, Greginald is the current “Set It Off Man” of Amateur Night at the legendary Apollo Theater. His buttery tone and smooth delivery would make musical influences like Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert, Johnny Gill & Freddy Jackson proud.

Grace Young is a powerhouse vocalist who graces each stage with a dynamic presence supported by an incredible band that includes Stephen Thomas, Gene Torres, Ethan Mann, Paul Odeh, and John Cooksey. Together, they deliver a high-energy performance that will leave you enchanted.
Jared Wayne Gladly & Friends
Mr. Gladly is an actor, singer, bandleader and host. A Texas native, his professional career began on the stage of New York’s historic Apollo Theater. Since then, he has starred in several Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater productions. He is now an in-demand vocalist throughout the NYC music scene. His effortless tone and wild rich range keep audiences enthralled and energized.
Jazz Jam w/The Harmony Bartz Experience
Harmony Bartz is a New York-based multidisciplinary entertainer. Her band, The Harmony Experience!, is an explosion of straight ahead jazz, blues, neo soul, R&B, and funk, with her jazzy vocal stylings woven amongst every song. This band has performed at many well known venues, including Minton’s, The Shrine, and Patrick’s Place.
Jazz Power Initiative Presents
The Joys & Pathways of Tap Dance: Join Lisa La Touche, choreographer/dancer with Eli Yamin, piano/music director where they will be exploring the music and sounds of Black folklore, tradition, and a contemporary reach in connection to Tap Dance.
James Carter
James Carter is a powerhouse musician and one of the most admired saxophonists of his generation, garnering plaudits for his role in helping to propel jazz full tilt into the future over the past twenty-five years. His music is fueled by deep respect and intimate knowledge of the jazz tradition. Carter finds great beauty in cross pollinations of music and influences. He has released 14 recordings with his various ensembles for Atlantic Records, Sony and UMG. Several feature his renowned Organ Trio and one includes the Concerto for Saxophones and Orchestra by renowned composer, Roberto Sierra. Add his long-awaited debut on Blue Note Records with the release of James Carter Organ Trio: Live From Newport Jazz. James Carter is the winner of multiple awards, and in 2004 received The Dr. Alaine Locke Award, given to those who’ve provided exemplary service and leadership in the promotion of African American culture.
Karen Maynard
This recently retired NYC Vocal Music teacher has led choruses, directed musicals, and shared her love of Jazz with a multitude of children. As an artist, Karen Maynard has appeared around New York City at The Village Vanguard, Copelands, Chocolate, Billie’s Black, Smoke, Small’s, Minton’s, Dizzy’s Coca Cola, with Javon Jackson, Dezron Douglas, to list a few. As evidenced by her weekly open mic, today Maynard’s artistry is admired and respected by all.
Keith "The Captain" Gamble & His Nu Gypsies
The Captain is a consummate performer whose talents are both exceptional and diverse! Singer-Songwriter, Keith THE CAPTAIN Gamble’s heart and soul are rooted in the BLUES. He can charge his performances with Funk, Rock, Jazz, R&B, and Soul, but will always lead his audience back home to the Blues. Various tours include a three-nation European tour, the Middle East, and US Embassy tours in six African nations. Don’t miss this. But beware, The Captain could be habit-forming.
Kevin Oliver
Kevin Oliver, Jr. is a young, passionate multi -dimensional saxophonist, composer band leader and stand-up comic, who draws inspiration from John Coltrane, Dave Chappelle and Donald Glover alike. Artists driven to strike chords of social consciousness. Aiming to expand the mold of multi-talented performers, Oliver founded the Kevin Oliver, Jr. Group to blend African-American musical traditions like gospel and hip hop, with stand-up comedy. Drawing from historic playbills featuring legends like Miles Davis and Richard Pryor.
Khrista White
Special Occasion Band comes equipped for any musical occasion. High energy to a low groove, this band with the knowing tones of Khrista White. Ms White has an extraordinarily rich and soulful tone, with strong gospel influences to add to her joyful stage presence. A studied vocal artist from Philadelphia, Khrista is also an educator and performs in musical ensembles, from the Sid Miller Dance Band to Special Occasion and beyond.

Washington, a multi talented artist, captivates audiences with her powerful vocals, captivatingstage presence, and deep connection to the rich history of jazz. Lynette Washington’s repertoire spans multiple genres, effortlessly weaving together classic jazz standards, soul, and gospel influences to create a truly unique and captivating sound.
Lady Cantrese
With her elegant and sophisticated style, Lady Cantrese has been entertaining audiences since she was a youth. Harlem grown, Cantrese began singing when she joined the school’s first Glee Club.Cantrese has performed in several venues throughout New York City. In addition she continues to bring her considerable musical talent to many private events. She has toured Italy and toured Japan . She’s performed with Patience Higgins & The Sugarhill Jazz Quartet at St. Nicks Pub and Grammy Nominated vocalist Gregory Porter for the Production of “Berta’s Jam” Produced By Voza Rivers of The New Heritage Group in Association with Community Works and her Mother Berta Indeed. She’s performed with Olu Dara, Cassandra Wilson, Madame Pat Tandy and Baby Washington. Just to name a few.
Michael Cruse
This Kentucky-born trumpeter and singer is blazing trails on the NY Jazz scene. Michael has performed and studied with jazz greats such as Roy Hargrove, Les McCann, JD Allen, Terence Blanchard, Javon Jackson, and performed with Bootsy Collins, KeKe Wyatt, Keisha Cole, Damian Sneed, Marc Broussard.
Move and Groove

Manny’s Boogaloo Crew
Manny’s Boogaloo Crew is a LATIN FUNK Band Lead by Eusebio ‘MANNY’ Montanez. Manny is al Rumbero, born in West Harlem & raised in the Bronx. Growing up a few blocks from the Apollo Theater, then later cutting his teeth on the (Rumba) jam sessions in the Bronx. The band lays down cool Afro-Cuban Rumba, laced with Funky R&B sounds, pushed by the Latin mellow of the Boogaloo groove.
Mel “Cello” Greenwich
Mel “Cello” Greenwich is a Cellist, Vocalist, Actor and Co-founder of the Ensemble Sepia “A Musical Network” and his Jazz Sepia Network. He holds a Masters in Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. As an accomplished Musician, Mr Greenwich has performed at Bill T. Jones Dance Co., Apollo Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall with Artists such as: Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Anita Baker, Kenny Latimore, Ray Chew, Joseph Joubert, Danny Mixon, Shirley Ceasar, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Gloria Estafan and Marc Anthony.
Nate Lucas All-Stars
Nate Lucas , born and raised in New York City. He began studying music at the age of 7. He first studied guitar under the incomparable Skeeter Best. At age 8 he moved on to the piano. Nathan was introduced to Jazz by his legendary Saxophonist father Max “the Sax” Lucas. Nathan has shared the stage with some of the giants in the business such as George Benson, Russell Malone, Lou Donaldson, Jimmy McGriff, Etta Jones, Alyson Williams, Roy Ayers, and a multitude more. He has also held a residency on Lenox Ave.
Nikita White
Vocalist Nikita White began singing at a young age in her family’s Baptist Church on the Northwest side of Chicago. Inspired by her large musical family, she performed with local R&B, rock, and blues bands before she started attending jazz jam sessions and began working with tenor saxophone great Von Freeman. In 1980 she moved to New York where she studied voice with Dr. Barry Harris’ vocal workshop, recorded with George Braith, and worked with a variety of notable artists including Mulgrew Miller, Kenny Washington, Peter Washington, Henry Butler, Russell Hall and Lafayette Harris. She has toured in Europe and Africa, and studied at Long Island University.
Omar Edwards & The New York Jazz Gypsies
Through a pool of sounds from Jazz to Funk and back again, virtuoso rhythm Tap-dancer Omar Edwards and his band, the New York Jazz Gypsies take patrons on a journey through sound. The driving percussion of Omar’s Tap-shoes combined with the instrumentation of band members provide a unique experience for the audience in having the cadence and rhythm of Omar’s feet, not voice, lead them down a broad river of musical genres.
OSG (Otherside of the Game)
From the very beginning, OSG stands out as a distinct R&B Duo. Their harmony in singing, performing, and playing has remained constant – from intimate open mics to grand stages. As their partnership evolved, they’ve had the privilege of gracing diverse venues and evolving as recording artists. Gaining inspiration from prominent figures such as Erykah Badu, the band The Internet, and fellow musicians, OSG is committed to forging a sound that is unmistakably their own.
Patience Higgins
Grammy award-winning jazz saxophonist, flutist, clarinet, oboe, and English horn musician. Higgins has performed with Count Basie and Duke Ellington Orchestras, Barry Harris, Archie Shepp, Jimmy Scott, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and The Sugar Hill Jazz Quartet. Higgins is a Broadway musician and an educator. Globally known, yet he has held a residency for over 25 years in Harlem.
Phil Young
Harlem legend Phil Young has been playing drums on and off since Bobby Blue Bland spotted him at an amateur night at the Apollo Theatre, at fifteen, and invited him to come play in black night clubs across the South. Since then, he has toured internationally and played with greats such as Stanley Turrentine, George Benson, and Dizzy Gillespie.

Rakiem Walker Project
The Rakiem Walker Project (RWP) created by founder and musical director Rakiem Walker, who has rightfully earned a stellar reputation for delivering high-energy, crowd-pleasing live performances. RWP features the stunning vocals of Glrya (Gloria Ry’ann) and a calvacade of beautiful voices and musicians seamlessly weaving through musical genres.
Rashaan Salaam
Rashaan Salaam was born and raised in Miami, Florida and has been infatuated with music since childhood. His family is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, so calypso and soca music were early influences. Salaam’s grandfather was a violinist and a pianist. However, he passed away exactly a year before Salaam was born. After years of studying piano, Salaam transferred to trombone. Being introduced to masters such as Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and J.J. Johnson changed his life forever. Salaam inevitably found New York, and knew this was the place for him to thrive musically, but knows it takes work to make a career in the Big Apple. Salaam is on his musical journey and we’re excited to see what his future holds.

Under the direction of Ahmaya Knoelle Higginson, Sing Harlem has grown to be a highly respected and influential force in the New York gospel scene, producing not only great vocalists, but top-notch global citizens. Sing Harlem has performed at many prestigious venues and concerts across America including The Congressional Black Caucus, The Stellar Awards, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lincoln Center, and the Grammy Awards.

Sunday Fundays w/ Soul Power Band featuring C. Kelly Wright. Soul Power Band, NYC is a wildly talented group of musicians. C. The Villagers Brass Band is a New York City-based brass collective fusing the bustling sounds of New Orleans Basin Street with today’s Top 40 chart toppers. TS Monk
Thelonious Sphere Monk, Jr. (T.S. Monk) is an internationally acclaimed jazz drummer, composer, bandleader, and vocalist. Lauded by critics and fans alike as the musical heir to his legendary father, legendary jazz composer, and pianist Thelonious Monk. TS also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Thelonious Monk Institute for Jazz, an organization he formed to honor his father’s legacy and support the efforts of education. Monk has received numerous accolades for his work, including being honored with the New York Jazz Awards First Annual “Recording of the Year” award and Downbeats’ 63rd annual Album of the Year Reader’s Choice Award for Monk on Monk. The “80th Anniversary Birthday Tribute to Thelonious Sphere Monk” featuring 20 guest artists including Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Arturo Sandoval, Dianne Reeves, Nnenna Freelon, and Howard Johnson.

Blues legend Vince Johnson and his band, the Plantation Allstars, were honored with the prestigious Beale Street Brass Note award in a ceremony that took place on December 17, 2023 in Memphis, Tenn. A well deserved, yet long overdue recognition for this storied Memphis Blues band and all of its incredibly talented members!
